Overview, Goals, and Scope
概述
MEF is a global industry association of network, cloud, and technology providers. It provides a framework for digital service providers to develop, monetize, and scale services across an automated, inter-connected ecosystem.
Its mission is to develop a global federation of network, cloud, and technology providers to establish dynamic, assured, and certified services that empower enterprise digital transformation. The engine powering this mission is MEF 3.0 Global Services Framework, based on the following pillars:
- Services
- Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) APIs
- Community
- Certification
The MEF Technology Certification Registry is the authoritative listing of companies that have achieved MEF 3.0 SD-WAN, MEF 3.0 CE, CE 2.0, or CE 1.0 certification of their technologies.
Goals
The main purpose of earning MEF 3.0 certification is to demonstrate to service providers and customers that the solution complies with standardized, assured connectivity and digital services defined by MEF. These are based on Global Services Framework key principles:
- Connectivity and Digital Services
- Lifecycle Orchestration APIs
- Broad Industry Stakeholders

Standardized and connectivity services that can be bought, sold, operated and implemented programmatically.

Automated using standards-based API’s operating as part of lifecycle orchestration architecture.

Strong security posture everywhere with security standards beyond hybrid connectivity.
