Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) − a global leader in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions – today announced that it has appointed Cho Won-Kyun, an industry veteran with more than two decades of cybersecurity and networking experience, as its Country Manager for Korea. Cho will lead Fortinet’s overall operations and be responsible for expanding the vendor's business in the territory.

Before joining Fortinet, Cho worked with F5 Networks for seven years, most recently as Country Manager for Korea and Regional VP for F5 APAC. At the company, he helped the Korean business grow more than three times through business diversification and sales ecosystem rationalization.

Cho has also served as a leader for strategy and operations for Cisco Korea, and led business development and sales in the service provider market. Before that, Cho worked for KT and Cable & Wireless, where he was recognized by management for his ability to formulate and execute on market strategies to grow the business.

"I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead Fortinet’s expansion in Korea, and help drive the next phase of business growth in the region,” said Cho. “With our advanced Security Fabric architecture and unparalleled customer service, Fortinet is on its way to becoming the most trusted and recognized network security provider in the country.”

Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, with new threats emerging every day. From IoT to the cloud, enterprises need an architecture that can integrate, synchronize and automate cyber defences across the entire organization. The Security Fabric architecture foundation enables Fortinet to deliver a broad portfolio of advanced solutions to the financial services, manufacturing, government, telecom and high-tech industries, helping Korean organizations gain competitive advantage with a secure business environment.

“Cho Won-Kyun is a proven business manager and people leader,” said Spencer Chen, Fortinet’s Senior Director for North Asia. “I am confident that under his charge, Fortinet will become a vital partner of Korean enterprises as they seek secure digital transformation strategies in the coming years.”

Cho graduated from George Washington University with a Master's degree in Business Administration.
