Fortinet invests in channel team to bolster Australian growth

 Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) – a world leader in high-performance network security – today announced that it is growing its channel team in Australia to support its partner network servicing the SME, enterprise, MSSP and telecommunications segments as the company looks to grow considerably over the next 12 months.

Fortinet has established itself among the top leaders of the network security market, recognised as the third largest security appliances vendor according to IDC and positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Unified Threat Management (UTM) Magic Quadrant for five consecutive years. The company recently announced its fourth quarter and final year global results; the latter includes billings of $684.2m up 14% year over year and revenues of $615.3m up 15% year over year.

In order to accelerate its market traction in ANZ, Fortinet has invested in three additional team members to support its growing channel community, Brandon Blume, Regional Account Manager, NSW, Ebony Williams, Regional Account Manager, Southern Region and Merrilyn Gardiner, Marketing and Channel Account Manager, Northern Region. They join Genevieve White, Australian Channel Manager and Claire O'Brien Channel Account Manager, Southern Region.

Brandon Blume, Regional Account Manager, NSW, will be responsible for business development and growth within Fortinet's Gold Partner Channel, the company’s top selling partners, in the Northern Region. He will promote partner education enablement and lead the sales cycle with end user clients. Brandon has more than 15 years' experience working in the Australian IT market. During his career he has held a variety of sales positions across a wide range of verticals and has spent the last decade working in the information security industry including, Verizon Business, MCI WorldCom and Firewall Systems.

Ebony Williams, Regional Account Manager will be responsible for business development and growth within Fortinet's Gold Partner Channel in the Southern Region. She will also promote partner education enablement and lead the sales cycle with end user clients. Ebony has seven years' channel sales experience working with best-of-breed security and networking vendors such as F5, Bluecoat, Tipping Point and Sophos in various distribution roles. Through this, she gained invaluable experience in executing strategies to provide quality infrastructure and security solutions to the channel community, Global System Integrators and VARs alike.

Merrilyn Gardiner, Marketing and Channel Account Manager will focus on relationship management and working closely with partners promoting innovative security solutions into Fortinet’s Silver and Bronze partner community in NSW, ACT and Queensland. Merrilyn has 10 years experience within the IT Industry. Prior to Fortinet, she was the Mid-Market Channel Manager for Check Point Software Technologies, where she developed and managed channel partners through a strong enablement plan and marketing activities. Prior to working for vendors, she held roles with resellers and gained experience within the channel community. Her experience spans across sales, recruitment and marketing.

Genevieve White, ANZ Channel Manager has worked at Fortinet for two years and is responsible for leading the channel team in Australia and managing the enterprise partner community. Her role encompasses channel marketing, program management, partner and customer certification programs as well as distribution management for Fortinet Australia. Genevieve has 23 years professional experience in the Australian ICT industry. Her broad experience covers infrastructure, security, professional services, banking, to name a few, and has worked for companies including Lexmark, British Telecom (Syntegra), and more recently IBM Australia and F5 Networks.

Claire O'Brien, Channel Account Manager, Southern Region has been with Fortinet for one year. Claire is engaged to build and promote Fortinet's position as the established leader in UTM within Fortinet's Bronze and Silver Partner Channel servicing the SMB/SME market. Her role is key to partner recruitment and driving growth within the traditional UTM offerings in the Wireless, Mail Security and other emerging segments. Claire has spent the past seven years working for global vendors in the data centre and security companies including, APC by Schneider Electric and Eaton Industries. Prior to her channel experience, Claire worked directly with the end-user community covering government, education and manufacturing verticals.
