Texas Trust Credit Union
Texas Trust Credit Union is a long-established financial institution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with 23 branch locations. From a cybersecurity perspective, the credit union’s biggest threat—and biggest attack vector—is email. The type of threats it faces are wide ranging, with ransomware one of the top concerns. An additional challenge to the credit union was its network availability and reliability. To secure against email threats, the credit union deployed FortiMail. As part of its Fortinet platform, it also deployed FortiGate Secure SD-WAN for high availability connections at its branches.
FortiMail enables the credit union to quarantine and inspect malicious emails often containing malware or phishing for sensitive credentials or customer information. It also secures outgoing emails with data loss prevention encryption polices and helps Texas Trust ensure a variety of compliance requirements. With its Secure SD-WAN in place, the credit union sees improved performance, less network complexity, redundant connectivity, and it exponentially cut costs. The trust gained from Fortinet also gave the credit union confidence to integrate other Fortinet solutions as part of a Security Fabric. This unique security platform and partnership with Fortinet will enable Texas Trust to secure its ongoing digital innovation involving more dependence on cloud apps.
