Several years ago, when a large Brazilian retail pharmacy chain had plans of ambitious growth both in launching new stores and digital innovation for employees and customers alike, it knew its aging network would not support such demand. Therefore, Pague Menos searched for a new solution to converge networking and cybersecurity.

What it found was a solution from Fortinet based on FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NFGWs) with Fortinet Secure software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) enabled to connect branches. Secure access was extended to the LAN edge with FortiAP wireless access points for employees and customers in approximately 1,600 stores. The solution helped transform the business to one with a robust omnichannel customer experience with as many as 60 new digital services available to customers. A FortiADC application delivery controller helps optimize business application performance and availability. And through a single management console, the retailer can centrally manage the network and respond to security incidents quicker than previously.
