CITIC Telecom CPC and Fortinet to Boost SD-WAN Performance and Security with Latest Joint Solution

New hybrid solution combines Fortinet’s SD-WAN and industry-leading firewall capabilities and CITIC Telecom CPC’s professional managed services to deliver cost-effective connectivity and mitigate cyber risks

Hong Kong - 5 июля 2019 года

Fortinet®, a global leader in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions, and CITIC Telecom International CPC Limited (“CITIC Telecom CPC”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited (SEHK: 1883), today jointly launched a new breed of “TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid” Secured SD-WAN solution powered by Fortinet’s FortiGate Secure SD-WAN technology. The latest service will provide advanced networking and security in a single unified offering to organizations seeking to secure and enhance business operations by deploying Secure SD-WAN. This new, integrated firewall and SD-WAN bundle deepens Fortinet’s partnership with CITIC Telecom CPC, Fortinet's first pan-APAC Managed Security Services Partner (MSSP) since 2016.

The TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid Secured SD-WAN solution addresses the security concerns of rapid SD-WAN implementation in organizations of all sizes from SMBs to enterprises. It also provides efficient protection across all branch outposts by providing consistent policy enforcement with single-pane-of-glass management. The technologies in the FortiGate next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) with embedded SD-WAN capabilities, combined with CITIC Telecom CPC’s Managed Network and Security Services, will allow enterprises to embark on Branch Digital Transformation initiatives with:

  • an assurance of high performance and secured networking;
  • an efficient network and security operating model; and
  • a reduction in Total Cost of Ownership of the branch networks.

In addition, TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid Secured SD-WAN-enabled tracking and reporting will allow CITIC Telecom CPC customers to ensure adherence to privacy laws, security standards, and industry regulations. This is especially crucial for highly distributed environments like retail networks, which need to adhere to strict compliance rules.

“Complexity is a hindrance to organizations’ agility and scalability, as well as their digital globalization strategies. By providing an integrated solution that meets various WAN services and network security needs, CITIC Telecom CPC and Fortinet are uniquely removing complexity and easing SD-WAN operations for customers who depend on managed security services,” said Taylor Lam, Vice President of Product from CITIC Telecom CPC.

Backed by third-party testing, the CITIC Telecom CPC TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid Secured SD-WAN solution delivers ease of management, security and encrypted traffic inspection. The solution also has the ability to deliver the cost-performance benefits of hybrid networks that bind multiple access technologies into a single logical path. This SD-WAN solution ensures appropriate levels of security protection and inspection, while enabling easy access and operation of the centralized management portal to allow organizations to maintain high levels of visibility and control of the WAN infrastructure. This applies not only to data and applications passing through the SD-WAN environment but also across the entire distributed network.

CITIC Telecom CPC TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid Secured SD-WAN solution is immediately available and works seamlessly with CITIC Telecom CPC’s other flagship enterprise solutions.

A Top Choice for Secure SD-WAN

Many enterprises are embarking on digital transformation (DX) initiatives — such as adopting SaaS applications and global collaboration applications like VoIP and videoconferencing — to increase productivity, improve communications, and foster rapid business growth. However in Gartner’s report titled, “Survey Analysis: Address Security and Digital Concerns to Maintain Rapid SD-WAN Growth”, 72% of the respondents said that security was their topmost concern when it comes to their WAN.

CITIC Telecom CPC customers looking to transform their enterprise with SD-WAN will benefit from this partnership with Fortinet’s industry-leading FortiGate Secure SD-WAN technology that received an SD-WAN "Recommended" rating in two consecutive NSS Labs test reports in 2018 and 2019. The test results showed that voice and video applications experienced virtually no loss of quality even during brownout conditions, and the SD-WAN solution delivers excellent VPN performance and exceptional total cost of ownership. Purpose-built security processors and threat intelligence from Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs further ensure that security is an integral part of CITIC Telecom CPC TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid Secured SD-WAN solution.

“Fortinet leads the industry by combining best-of-breed SD-WAN and security in an integrated solution when traditional WAN solutions are breaking under the pressure of digital transformation. While SD-WAN continues to grow, organizations are also quickly realizing that not all SD-WAN solutions are the same. Only Fortinet can combine SD-WAN and advanced network security into a single offering to deliver customers a robust hybrid solution with CITIC Telecom CPC’s TrueCONNECT™ Hybrid service,” said Cherry Fung, Fortinet’s Regional Director for Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia.
