HKT Collaborates with Fortinet to Offer Industry’s Broadest Range of Enterprise Security Services

Leveraging Fortinet’s Security Fabric Solutions, HKT Delivers New Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) Offerings Designed to Help Hong Kong Enterprises Securely Transform Their Operations and Gain Greater Business Agility

Hong Kong - 23 июля 2018 года
-

Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions and HKT, Hong Kong's premier telecommunications service provider, today announced the availability of a new series of Security-as-a-Service solutions, offering businesses the industry’s broadest suite of security services to help them cope with increasingly complex cyber threats.

With rapidly evolving cyber threats, enterprises need to constantly update their cybersecurity strategies and keep up with the demand for new technology architectures and support models. Without the right managed security services, this piles pressure on their IT staff and calls for ever-escalating capital investment.

By collaborating with Fortinet and leveraging the Fortinet Security Fabric, an architectural approach to security designed to integrate security solutions into a unified framework, HKT will become the first telecommunications service provider in Hong Kong to provide enterprise customers with powerful, integrated end-to-end security solutions across the entire attack surface.

Mr. Steve Ng, Senior Vice President, Commercial Group, HKT said, “With digital transformation getting into full swing, more enterprises are tapping into new technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data analytics to capture new opportunities and boost the agility of their business, while managing an effective balance of investment and operating cost. Network security is the foundation from which to execute a successful digital transformation. The time is ripe now for HKT to step forward and take the lead in providing total, evergreen protection for enterprises’ IT systems.”

Empowered by Fortinet’s Security Fabric, HKT today launched a new series of Security-as-a-Service solutions including next generation firewall, sandbox and secured Wi-Fi protection. These are based on Fortinet’s FortiGate, FortiSandbox and FortiAP solutions, respectively. Enterprises can benefit from real-time end-to-end protection, faster service provisioning with minimal upfront investment, professional managed services and high scalability. Deploying a combination of Fortinet’s security information and event management (SIEM) technologies and FortiGuard Labs global threat intelligence, together with HKT’s Security Operation Center and Threat Management Service, HKT can now deliver a broad suite of cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in Hong Kong.

Cherry Fung, Fortinet’s Regional Director for Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia, said: “The Security-as-a-Service model is popular and already a proven success in other parts of the world. Fortinet has been the preferred security partner of many managed security service providers (MSSPs) all over the world in bringing digital and security transformation to enterprises. We are excited to be able to forge such a collaboration with Hong Kong’s largest telecommunications service provider, and jointly address the many emerging business opportunities in this space.”

Confidence in Fortinet’s cybersecurity expertise, which has also been extensively validated by third parties such as Gartner, NSS Labs, ICSA Labs and Virus Bulletin, led HKT to become the vendor’s first MSSP partner in Hong Kong to leverage its Security Fabric.

Fortinet’s MSSP program helps MSSPs adapt to changing market dynamics and threat conditions, and assists in their growth through training, specialised support, and go-to-market programs that enable profitable service creation.

Mr. Ng said: “HKT collaborates with Fortinet because of its end-to-end Security Fabric architecture, high performing solutions and extensive ecosystem of technology partners. We believe these value propositions will truly enable HKT to deliver a rich set of security services and capabilities to enterprise businesses. HKT’s cybersecurity solutions include on-premise systems, professional services as well as carrier-grade SECaaS. We are confident that our all-round solutions can help enterprises to solve different cybersecurity challenges.”

Ms. Fung added: “HKT has a comprehensive portfolio of fixed, mobile and cloud services. Its enterprise traction and competencies in cyber security also convinced us that they are a strong partner to drive the adoption of broad-based security services in Hong Kong.”
