Fortinet named 2015 Frost & Sullivan New Zealand Network Security Vendor of the Year
AUCKLAND, 19 October, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) – a global leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions − is pleased to announce that they have received the 2015 Frost & Sullivan New Zealand Network Security Vendor of the Year Award. The Award acknowledges the NZ team's dedication to customers and recognises Fortinet’s outstanding performance throughout 2014. The award was presented on Thursday, 15 October at the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards banquet held at the Conrad Centennial in Singapore.
“New Zealand businesses are confronting the fact that cyber attacks have increased significantly in the last few years,” says Andrew Milory, Vice President, ICT Practice, Asia Pacific for Frost & Sullivan. “A major challenge is that a large portion of New Zealand businesses are not prepared for these cyber attacks. Coupled with that, many organisations in the country have encouraged employees to bring their own devices to work to increase productivity and employee satisfaction.
“However,” he continues, “these trends have also introduced more threats into business networks, which in turn has caused more challenges for these businesses to secure their network infrastructure as well as their commercially-sensitive digital assets. Fortinet has leveraged cutting-edge network security technologies to address these challenges and become a market leader in New Zealand.
“Fortinet has continued to increase its market share by securing contracts and partnering with major organisations in New Zealand. Consequently, the company showed strong financial performance with 24% growth in year-on-year revenue. We wish them every success in 2015.”
Fortinet has moved from strength to strength in 2014 and into 2015. "I want to thank our customers and partners for this award," says Jon McGettigan, Fortinet’s Senior Director Australia, NZ & South Pacific Islands. "This prestigious recognition validates the team's efforts over the past two years. In addition to increasing our revenues and customer base, we have added six new sales and technical staff in New Zealand and have appointed a new Country Manager, Peter Saunders.”
Fortinet is the only network security vendor to push technology in areas as diverse as data centre agility with an integrated SDN (software defined networking) offering, cloud-managed secure Wi-Fi and advanced threat protection. Other security vendors might have solutions in some of these areas, but none cover the spectrum like Fortinet.
Backed by over 200 researchers at the FortiGuard Labs global R&D team, Fortinet is poised to continue its market leadership role. “Cybersecurity is a full-time responsibility,” says McGettigan, “and we are doing our part to make New Zealand businesses safer online. We will continue to up-skill our internal team and partners, reinforce our position as customers' strategic advisors, and carry our momentum into 2016.”
