Nordlaks

Norwegian Aquaculture Group Charts New Waters With Extended Security Infrastructure

“It’s a very exacting environment and a business that demands zero downtime. So high availability and centralized management for broad visibility and rapid response are essential requirements for any new systems.”

– Kurt-Erik Karlsen, Senior Architect, Nordlaks

Nordlaks, a Norwegian breeder and marketer of premium salmon and rainbow trout, recently expanded its sustainable breeding capacity with a cutting-edge stationary sea farm. The colossal, 385-meter vessel, which operates in the harsh conditions of the Norwegian Sea, houses a complex array of industrial monitoring and communication devices. It even has its own network operations center.

Nordlaks was already leveraging Fortinet solutions to protect its existing land and sea-based operations. It seamlessly extended that coverage by deploying Fortinet solutions aboard the sea farm. Ruggedized secure switching and wireless access and robust next-generation threat protection from Fortinet enable Nordlaks staff on land or at sea to securely monitor the health and growth of their fish in real time.

Learn how Nordlaks is leveraging its Fortinet Security Fabric to ensure that the sea farm’s network can weather any storm—at sea or in cyberspace—in this case study.
