CASU
CASU (University Health Assistance Fund) is a private non-profit institution that provides health plans to employees of the UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) in Brazil. Its 130 employees support 20,000 members. With a growing dependency on the cloud and Windows Virtual Desktop users, it had to add more robust security and improve visibility into its networking in the cloud.
For this, CASU implemented the FortiGate-VM (virtual machine) providing edge security to its entire cloud infrastructure, from servers to desktops. The Microsoft Azure solution is integrated into the headquarters and branch office communications network with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN technology, improving availability and providing a secure connection between the cloud and all business units. Along with all of the next-generation firewall capabilities that CASU is benefitting from, the solution helps them meet national compliance laws. Real-time network visibility and monitoring lead to more effective decision making on security events for CASU.
