Fortinet expands distribution footprint in Australia
SYDNEY, 13 July, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a global leader in high performance cyber security solutions - has appointed Ingram Micro Australia as their second trans-Tasman distribution partner. This move means that Fortinet’s market-leading Next Generation security solutions will now be distributed in both Australia and New Zealand by Ingram Micro and Exclusive Networks.
“We now have a unified distribution model on both sides of the Tasman,” says Scott Cowen, General Manager for ANZ Distribution. “Both Ingram Micro and Exclusive Networks offer complementary services to the channel and will help us maintain our rapid growth as we target larger enterprises, data centres and the education, government and financial sectors.”
This appointment was necessitated by Fortinet’s double-digit growth worldwide. “We are ramping up to provide enhanced multi-faceted support to our channel partners across the ANZ region,” says Jon McGettigan, Regional Director ANZ and South Pacific for Fortinet. “As we expand our solution set for managed service providers and larger enterprises, we need to provide more pre-sales and system architecture support as the sales cycles are longer and installations are more complex. Both Ingram Micro and Exclusive Networks are investing heavily in building their Fortinet support teams in anticipation of an increase in partner activity as our datacentre INFW (Internal Network Firewall) solutions and ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) framework gain traction in the marketplace.”
“Our trans-Tasman arrangement with Fortinet is the logical complement to Ingram Micro’s New Zealand engagement,” says Matt Sanderson, Vice President ANZ at Ingram Micro. “We can now leverage our in-place resources to keep abreast with Fortinet’s impressive growth. Fortinet’s end-to-end, multi-layered security solutions are resonating with enterprises and datacentres, and Fortinet has added more staff to support that growth. With Fortinet as the vendor, Ingram Micro as the distributor and Fortinet’s region-wide network of Authorised Partners, we fully expect to continue to build momentum in the high-end marketplace.”
Ingram Micro's appointment follows the addition of 12 new sales and support staff across ANZ, including two systems engineers for New Zealand, in the first quarter of 2015.
