Fortinet Appoints Lars Berggren to Lead Swedish Team
STOCKHOLM, Sweden - November 30, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) – a global leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions – has hired Lars Berggren as its new country manager in Sweden. With his proven track record in sales management and business development, Lars’ role will be to expand the channel presence and extend Fortinet’s penetration into the local market, taking advantage of the vendor’s technology superiority and its growing popularity.
“I did a lot of research before taking this job, talking to many Fortinet customers and partners and looking closely at the technology, and I can tell you that this business has only scratched the surface of what it will achieve in Sweden,” said Lars Berggren. “Fortinet wants to invest in its people and partners in Sweden, and I’ve joined the team to take advantage of a clear opportunity to drive our momentum and really go after the large enterprise market.”
“Large enterprises gain the most from Fortinet’s three completely unique qualities: our market-leading FortiOS operating system, our record-breaking accelerated hardware, and the world’s largest and most complete threat intelligence capability, FortiGuard.”
A key part of Berggren’s strategy focuses on the quality and diversity of Fortinet’s accredited partner community, with who it already works closely to serve enterprise customers in key sectors including finance, local & central government, retail, healthcare and media. “We will stay committed to a 100% channel model, and concentrate on a select group of highly skilled and motivated partners that have the capability and commitment to come on this journey with us,” he explains.
“Lars has a wealth of Swedish IT market experience, having spent nearly 30 years in senior sales management positions for vendors such as Extreme Networks and, most recently, Check Point, as well as at the major systems integrator Maldata/Cygate,” said Bjarne Kaiser-Lauritzen, Fortinet’s regional director for Northern Europe. “His 360 degree perspective on market trends, channels and competitors will be critical to meeting our objectives in Sweden.”
