New Virtualised Security Capabilities from Vodafone
Vodafone today announced a new global relationship with Fortinet to launch Vodafone Secure Network Gateway and Secure Remote User Access. These new services enable enterprise customers to buy security as a network feature, without the need for additional hardware, software or licensing - so deployment is simplified and customers are charged on an as-used basis.
The partnership accelerates Vodafone’s programme to bring market leading, next generation security solutions to enterprise customers. By embedding Fortinet’s high-performance virtualised security solutions and integrated Security Fabric architecture within Vodafone’s core network products, Vodafone can provide customers with security services embedded into connectivity.
Vodafone Secure Network Gateway includes network-based firewalling along with intrusion protection and detection. Secure Remote User Access enables remote workers to connect to their corporate network safely and securely. Both are delivered entirely from within the Vodafone Global IP-VPN network - offering high performance and low latency - and are purchased as part of the connectivity tariff.
Vodafone Enterprise Security Services Chief Executive Simon Church said “Businesses are becoming more and more cloud based. The virtualisation of security capabilities such as these from Fortinet, is going to be the foundation of a new generation of managed security services and further enhances Vodafone’s position as a global security provider.”
Fortinet Founder, Chairman and CEO Ken Xie added, “In today’s digital economy, enterprises are increasingly adopting hybrid architectures and cutting-edge services to best serve their customers and gain a competitive edge. Vodafone’s new managed security services ensure that these enterprises have the confidence that their cybersecurity is as innovative as the businesses they are protecting.”
