Illinois Century Network Partners with Fortinet to Protect K-12 Broadband Connectivity

“We did not need a firewall that was overly complex. We wanted it to be easy to manage and not require a lot of staff time. At the same time, we needed a network that could perform past 100 gigs. The Fortinet solutions match our needs well.”

– Andre Bouravnev, Network Supervisor, Illinois Century Network

Many states recognize that high-speed internet is essential to educational equity. In Illinois, the state government and boards of education have collaborated to transform this ideal into action. The Illinois Century Network (ICN), tasked with bringing broadband connectivity to all students and staff, sought to create a secure wide-area network (WAN) for schools to communicate with one another, as well as secure gateways to the internet for all K-12 schools. It met both objectives with FortiGate firewalls, which they centrally manage through the Fabric Management Center (FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer).

Learn why robust threat protection and ease of management were equally important to ICN’s decision makers and how they are on track to save millions of dollars in this case study.
