Business & Technology
Fortinet has once again been named a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Network Firewalls. We believe that our placement as a Leader with the highest Ability to Execute is a testament to Fortinet’s pioneering efforts around AI/ML-powered security and the convergence of networking and security.
Organizations can have consistent functionality across all solutions and form factors, including appliances, virtual environments, and secure access service edge (SASE) with all of the features and functions built on a single operating system, FortiOS.
FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) deliver multiple AI/ML-powered security services in a single solution, empowering IT to manage advanced cybersecurity threats while avoiding business disruptions.
No other NGFW comes close to delivering consistent AI/ML-powered security for both on-premises and remote users using SASE. Thanks to their purpose-built ASIC technology, FortiGate NGFWs are engineered to deliver the industry’s best ROI and price-to-performance across essential security services, including IPS, antivirus, DNS and URL filtering, application control, inspection of encrypted traffic, and more. And because of the power of the FortiOS operating system, organizations that have already deployed FortiGate NGFWs and/or Fortinet Secure SD-WAN in the branch or data center can seamlessly connect their remote users to FortiSASE for private access without needing an additional license.
FortiGate NGFWs also deliver advanced protections across a variety of use cases, including the data center, where we deliver secure hyperscale support and ultra-low latency (ULL). FortiGate NGFWs received the highest score for the Enterprise Data Center Use Case in the 2022 Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Network Firewalls report.
Driven by our unique ability to deliver networking and security convergence as an appliance, virtual machine, cloud-delivered service, or container, all running on FortiOS, FortiGate NGFWs are uniquely able to deliver converged networking services like SD-WAN with no extra licensing required. In addition, each FortiGate NGFW automatically serves as a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) application gateway, providing contextual application access by verifying user identity, device, and posture prior to access, no matter where the end-user or application resides.
FortiGate Network Firewalls also go beyond the internet edge with additional convergence services. These include acting as a secure controller for switching and Wireless Access Points and 5G wireless WAN to deliver a Secure SD-Branch architecture. This reduces the overall enterprise attack surface and total cost of ownership (TCO). We believe this is why Fortinet received the highest score of any vendor for the Distributed Enterprise use case in the 2022 Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Network Firewalls report.
All FortiGate NGFW customers have access to FortiSASE solutions for protecting their remote workers, as well as inline CASB to protect their cloud applications. Our FortiClient endpoint agent delivers these services, as well as an inline sandbox, to protect against the latest malware. And ZTNA offers built-in policy and posture assessments for all devices and users.
The FortiGate NGFW is one of several Fortinet products included in our single-pane management and orchestration solution. It enables robust automation and visibility across the entire Fortinet Security Fabric, the industry’s highest-performing cybersecurity mesh platform, including over 400 ecosystem partner integrations—the largest technology alliance program in the industry. In addition, the Fortinet Fabric Management Center simplifies enterprise-wide workflows and maintains operational efficiency so you can relieve constrained IT teams, reduce risk from misconfiguration errors, and deliver meaningful information to the network operations center (NOC).
Competing in today’s dynamic and expanding digital marketplace requires tools that not only deliver the latest protections and capabilities but also provide deep integration and the best price-to-performance and ROI. Fortinet believes our position as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Network Firewalls, as well as the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SD-WAN, validates our commitment to developing solutions that help enterprises transform and secure their network and accelerate their ability capture new and existing markets, even in the face of today’s uncertainty.
