Business & Technology
Fortinet is excited to be kicking off the first of this year’s four Accelerate conferences, this one in Barcelona, Spain on February 17. At this congress, security professionals from around the world will gather to learn about new strategies and technologies that promise to secure digital innovation.
Accelerate 2020 in Barcelona offers over 100 sessions that Fortinet customers and partners can attend, customising their schedules to focus on specific verticals, key technologies, and more. Beyond attending these sessions, delegates can get hands-on demonstrations of solutions at the TechExpo and earn technical training certifications from the NSE Institute that increase their value to their team and organisation.
While schedules can be customised based on specific interests, all delegates should plan to attend plenary sessions hosted by members of the Fortinet leadership team that will inform security strategy across industries and at organisations of all sizes. These include:
Ken Xie, Founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO at Fortinet, will share his vision on how to secure this new era of hyper-connectivity, when first- and second-generation security solutions are simply not advanced enough to meet the needs of modern distributed environments. Ken will address how customers and partners can embrace a strategy focused on the third-generation of security, and move away from perimeter defenses to protect data that spans different users, clouds, and more as a result of digital and physical convergence.
Today’s complex and interconnected networking environments demand a cybersecurity platform to ensure effective protection. Disparate point products are no longer an option and can even increase risk. Fortinet’s CMO and EVP of Products, John Maddison, will walk partners and customers through the unveiling of the 2020 Security Fabric and our other industry-leading solutions. He will then review how to leverage these tools to embrace security-driven networking, in which security controls and policies evolve dynamically as networks are updated.
A security posture is only as strong as the threat intelligence that informs it. Derek Manky, Chief of Security Insights and Global Threat Alliances at Fortinet, will review the latest threat information collected by our 5 million global threat sensors, and our collaborations with partners such as the Cyber Threat Alliance, NATO, Interpol, and more. Delegates will learn how to build the strongest threat defense possible to match today’s evolving threat landscape.
With digital innovation, cybersecurity has turned into the one of most strategically important issues facing the world, and organisations are set to spend USD $124 billion on it this year alone. Customers and partners are at the center of this massive trend. The role of the cybersecurity professional is expanding as an enabler of digital innovation. The deep understanding of market segments has never been so crucial for partners. Patrice Perche, Senior Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Support, will share the latest teachings of this year, as well as important market trends and initiatives.

In addition to the plenary sessions, delegates at Accelerate 2020 in Barcelona can choose to attend a myriad of sessions and workshops that promise to provide new insights and strategies for how to best secure the complex and distributed networks today’s organizations are reliant on. These fall into five general categories:
Those looking to get more out of the conference can extend their visit to Barcelona and attend one of 12 pre-conference workshops hosted by the NSE Institute. These workshops are rooted in the NSE curriculum, focusing on NSE 4-7, and provide technical training on how to configure, manage, and troubleshoot advanced Fortinet solutions. With this training, customers can ensure they are making the most of their Fortinet investment, while partners are able to offer a higher level of expertise and guidance.
Attend Fast Track workshops to learn how to best utilise the advanced features offered across the Fortinet solution set. These workshops will cover the latest updates and best practices when it comes to:
These sessions are designed to give Fortinet partners visibility into how to offer their customers the most comprehensive protection while growing their business. A host of topics will be covered, from how to shorten the sales cycle with cyber threat assessments, to how to differentiate your business in a competitive market with an SD-WAN specialization.
The breakout sessions cover cutting edge Fortinet technologies, such as the architectural approach to the Security Fabric and offering innovative insights for securing increasingly complex networks. Brush up on key concepts such as:
Accelerate 2020 will also offer a host of sessions focused on how to best secure digital initiatives within specific industries. Fortinet experts will be discussing best practices for securing retail, manufacturing, education, energy, and more.
Digitisation is disrupting every industry, creating new opportunities but also introducing new risks throughout today’s highly dynamic and distributed environments. We are excited to meet our customers and partners in Barcelona to collaborate on how to best secure their digital transformation journey together.
