Fortinet a Gold Sponsor at IBM Think 2018

By Fortinet | March 15, 2018

Digital business is transforming how organizations and individuals communicate, operate, and interact. These changes not only hold the promise for new opportunities, but also bring new risks to data, economies, and resources.  Which is why Fortinet is a Gold Sponsor at this year’s IBM Think 2018, being held March 19-22 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

IBM Think is all about helping organizations prepare for the future of business through understanding what is going on in the worlds of AI, Cloud, IoT, Data, Security, and Systems.

To help make this happen, Fortinet experts and innovative solutions will be featured in Booth #148. We will be featuring several demo stations highlighting some of our most exciting and relevant security innovations and topics, including:

  • Security Fabric: Take a look at some of the over 200 new features and functions in the latest release of the most widely deployed security operating system in the world – FortiOS.
  • QRadar: Learn more about how Fortinet solutions can be seamlessly integrated with the IBM QRadar security information and event management tool
  • Cloud: Fortinet is the first and only security vendor to provide a full suite of security solutions for all five major cloud providers, including IBM, enabling you to secure your cloud and multi-cloud environments.
  • Threat map: We will also be highlighting our threat map, providing real time threat intelligence from one of the largest threat telemetry systems in the world

We will also be showcasing Fortinet innovation around securing connected cars with our “processor under glass” display:

Connected vehicles are a major technology innovation. However, with the wide variety of connected and interconnected technologies in place, the cyber risks are enormous. We will be showcasing a cybersecurity prototype, developed in collaboration with Renesas Electronics, that integrates Fortinet FortiOS with the Renesas R-Car H3 system-on-a-chip (SoC) to secure vehicle network domains, cloud-based services, and applications.

With the Fortinet Security Fabric running on the R-Car H3 SoC, we can now provide integrated and automated security policy management and protection of a vehicle’s powertrain and communication domains, including LTE, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, wireless access points, the engine control module, and more. Stop by to take a look and talk with some of our Fortinet engineers about how these innovations will be affecting all of us in the future.

In addition, Derek Manky, Fortinet’s Global Security Strategist, will be delivering a security session entitled “Swarming the Cloud”, which takes an in-depth look at some of the latest threats and challenges facing today’s organizations:

Session# 8043 “Swarming the Cloud”
Tuesday, March 20th at 12:30 PM
Mandalay Bay South, Level 2 - Lagoon B

Presenter: Derek Manky, Fortinet Global Security Strategist

Summary: Attackers have begun weaponizing AI techniques to increase their efficiency and decrease the time to breach window. New swarm attacks are now on the horizon—placing the cloud in an increasingly vulnerable position. This means that intelligent and self-evolving defense systems, including our own swarm intelligence, are required to assist security and network operations centers. In this session you will learn how to integrate trained, expert systems into your security fabric to counter this growing threat.

We will also be hosting meeting rooms for customers who want some 1:1 time with the Fortinet experts and executives that will be in attendance. You can schedule your meeting with Fortinet here.

We look forward to meeting with you and your organization at this year’s IBM Think event.
