FORTIMANAGER™-400A CENTRALIZED MANAGEMENT APPLIANCE

FortiManager-400A appliances supply the tools needed to effectively manage mid-sized Fortinet deployments, from a few devices to hundreds of appliances and thousands of end-point security agents. The appliances provide centralized policy-based provisioning, configuration, and update management for FortiGate, FortiWiFi, and FortiMail appliances, as well as FortiClient end point security agents. They also offer end-to-end network monitoring for added control.

FortiManager delivers a lower TCO for Fortinet implementations by minimizing both initial deployment costs and ongoing operating expenses. Managers can control administrative access and simplify policy deployment using role-based administration to define user privileges for specific management domains and functions by aggregating collections of Fortinet appliances and agents into independent management domains.

FortiManager-400A Benefits

  • Support for up to 200 appliances or virtual domains (VDOMs) and 10,000 FortiClient agents from a single appliance for efficient command and control of mid-sized deployments.
  • Minimizes initial deployment and ongoing operating expenses of Fortinet security infrastructures.
  • Faster provisioning of new devices and agents and management of security policies across groups of assets reduces management burden and operational costs.
  • Detailed revision tracking increases visibility and auditing capabilities.
  • Easily manage complex mesh and star VPN environments.
  • Role as local distribution point for managed assets improves control over security and software updates.
  • Seamless integration with FortiAnalyzer appliances delivers in-depth discovery, analysis, prioritization and reporting of network security events.

We think highly of the FortiGate appliances ability to provide various security functions within one appliance, rather than forcing us to implement specific security software one by one. In addition, we liked its clear fee structure for initial licensing based on an annual per store cost. The deployment of FortiGate appliances enabled us to share a huge amount of data in a secure manner. We plan to drive further development, including a management system to understand all aspects of our outlets, such as photo shooting status, the delivery of commercial messages to our customers to highlight our outlets and the delivery of streaming images to our employees as part of training. Furthermore, we will consider developing a dedicated store system tailored for digital photography, rather than use a common POS system for retail outlets modified for photo studios.
