Free White Paper: Next Generation Security for Enterprise Networks
Touchpaper replaces multiple "point" security products and protects its global operations with Fortinet's best of breed UTM functionality
LONDON, July 18, 2006- Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions- has announced that Touchpaper, the global provider of software for IT Business Management (ITBM), is deploying FortiGate™ devices, FortiGuard™ subscription services, and FortiClient™ software to meet the increasing security demands placed upon its business operations by its global roaming employees and reseller channel.
Touchpaper is deploying its Fortinet security platform in the UK, Germany, United States and Singapore to provide firewall, site-to-site and remote user VPN, virus checking and file-type blocking. The FortiClient Host Security solution is further securing mobile communications traffic from remote workers' PCs to the company's core LAN infrastructure.
Zak Harding, IT manager at Touchpaper explains why the company selected Fortinet: "Our use of different security technologies for corporate firewalls, site-to-site and remote client VPNs from multiple vendors was not appropriate or efficient for a growing company, operating across the world. Increasing demands from mobile workers, growth in our overseas reseller channel and the provision of online support for our global customer base required us to have guaranteed interoperability and availability with minimum risk. After an extensive review of potential options, we found that Fortinet was the only vendor that could offer us a single solution to satisfy all our existing security requirements and accommodate anticipated future needs."
Fortinet's FortiGate-400A enterprise multi-threat security appliance is protecting Touchpaper's UK headquarters, and five FortiGate-60 units are being rolled out globally to protect the company's remote offices and users. Automatic real-time security updates provided by Fortinet's FortiGuard subscription services enable Touchpaper's global operations to continue to run smoothly whilst ensuring complete network security and remote connectivity.
Harding continued: "The FortiGate system that replaced our previous firewall-only solution offers us comprehensive multi-threat protection including firewall, VPN and state-of-the-art anti-virus scanning. Additionally, it provides a platform for us add services, such as content filtering or anti-spam - enabling us to easily and cost-effectively scale to future needs."
"Touchpaper's global security deployment emphasises the flexibility and comprehensive functionality offered by Fortinet," said Andre Stewart, Fortinet's vice president of sales, EMEA. "Our FortiGate systems and FortiClient software provide integrated multi-threat security that allows businesses to overcome the costly interoperability issues that are presented by single point product security solutions as well as providing the capability to deploy additional security functionality as and when required."
