Current Analysis Report Commends Fortinet for Enterprise-Class Features and Significantly Lower TCO
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Dec. 15, 2008 - Fortinet® - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that independent research firm Current Analysis has given its coveted five-star rating to the company's FortiGate® family of multi-threat network security appliances.
According to the "Fortinet FortiGate Security Appliances" profile report:
"Fortinet has solidified its position with a combination of products and services that have generated strong customer momentum and have raised the company's profile across the market, putting growing pressure on incumbents from a feature, functionality and security services perspective," said Andrew Braunberg, research director, Current Analysis.
The product focus for the report, Fortinet's FortiGate line of new generation secure gateways marry the integration of network and content security with the high performance, leveraged through custom-designed ASICs, to provide real-time protection against an array of external and internal threats. The appliances include eight core security functions, including firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention (IPS), VPN, spyware prevention, antispam, Web content filtering and traffic shaping. Customers can choose to purchase FortiGate appliances for some or all of these functionalities, and a scalable path to address future requirements. This consolidated approach provides improved security through integration and reduced CapEx and OpEx by eliminating the need to purchase, manage and maintain multiple point solutions.
"Fortinet's vision for high-performance multi-threat security solutions continues to be validated by increased global enterprise customer adoption of our FortiGate solutions and premier independent research and recognition," said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO of Fortinet. "Current Analysis' five-star rating of our FortiGate family highlights our market leadership and further underscores that we have the right vision and technology in place to meet the needs of enterprises."

As a small focused team working on a variety of high profile projects, our main priorities are the quality of our work and the service we provide. IT has never been top of the agenda; the construction industry as a whole continues to use traditional processes and still communicates via fax and post in many instances. However, as more of our partners are working electronically, our IT has become business critical, and the need to secure our IT assets was something we knew we had to address, but without our IT expenditure going through the roof.
