Fortinet's FortiClient Receives Third Acclaimed Virus Bulletin (VB) 100% Award

FortiClient™ desktop antivirus, firewall and VPN security software recognized for its outstanding antivirus capabilities

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 12, 2006- Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions- today announced that its FortiClient end point security software has earned its third Virus Bulletin 100% award for its exemplary virus-detection capabilities. Well-known in the industry, the Virus Bulletin (VB) 100% awards recognize products that have been tested by independent experts and proven to accurately detect 100 percent of viruses known to be "in the wild," constituting current, real-world viruses. In this test, FortiClient showed a major performance boost over the past several VB 100% tests due to optimization in the antivirus engine and its signatures.

Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiClient version 2.76 along with 25 other antivirus products for their detection rates, lack of false positives and speed of scanning on the widely-used Windows XP platform. This latest VB 100% award adds to Fortinet's impressive and unmatched portfolio of technology certifications and accolades - totaling three VB 100% awards, two NSS certifications (IPS, UTM) and eight ICSA certifications (firewall, antivirus, IPSec, SSL, IDS, client antivirus detection, cleaning and antispyware).

"Virus Bulletin is recognized and respected worldwide for the rigorous standards it employs to test products against current, real-world viruses," said Michael Xie, Fortinet founder, CTO and vice president of engineering. "eceiving our third consecutive VB 100% award is indicative of the superior security capabilities of FortiClient and Fortinet's continuous commitment to providing up-to-date protection against new and constantly-evolving threats. We are pleased with this achievement."

How to Buy

Purchase Fortinet Products

Key to our selection of Fortinet was the truly integrated functionality of its FortiGate security appliances. In evaluating other solutions, we found that one product might have offered IPS but nothing much beyond that. Another offered a range of functions, but as a piecemeal solution from multiple vendor partners. We found that none matched the breadth of Fortinet's integrated platform.
