Middle East - May 3, 2010 - Fortinet® - a leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - has won the Network Security Vendor of the Year award from Network World Middle East (NWME). The awards ceremony was held on 27 April, 2010 in Dubai and honored both vendors and enterprises on their achievement in the creative development of enterprise networking as it improves corporate efficiency and profitability. The contenders of the vendor awards were evaluated based on the following criteria: market leadership; product innovation and technology strategy; breadth and depth of portfolio; and regional reach.

Bashar Bashaireh, Middle East regional director at Fortinet, said, ÏIt is a great honor that NWME recognized Fortinet as the network security vendor of the year. This nomination is a testament to the technology innovation that Fortinet delivers through its solutions as well as our success in penetrating the Middle East market, specifically in the enterprise and telco segments.

As a small focused team working on a variety of high profile projects, our main priorities are the quality of our work and the service we provide. IT has never been top of the agenda; the construction industry as a whole continues to use traditional processes and still communicates via fax and post in many instances. However, as more of our partners are working electronically, our IT has become business critical, and the need to secure our IT assets was something we knew we had to address, but without our IT expenditure going through the roof.
