Fortinet Appoints M.Tech as New Distributor for Vietnam

Move Aims to Broaden and Deepen Channel Outreach in Emerging Southeast Asian Market

HANOI, Vietnam - July 10, 2009 - Fortinet® - a market-leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions today announced the appointment of M.Tech as Fortinets distributor in the Vietnam. This move will allow both companies to deepen local market traction with Fortinets leadership standing as the top ranked company in worldwide UTM factory revenue for 2008, fueled by large-enterprise, MSSP and carrier adoption of Fortinets high-end FortiGate™ multi-threat security appliances. As the UTM global factory revenue leader for three consecutive years, Fortinet is well positioned to strengthen its entrenchment in the Vietnamese market, especially with the CAPEX and OPEX value proposition heightened in the current economic conditions worldwide and in the region.

According to Wilson Ho, deputy managing director of the M.Tech Group, ÏWe are honored to be appointed as Fortinets Vietnamese distributor and are confident in marketing unified threat management (UTM) security systems in a price-performance conscious environment. This partnership is timely to leverage M.Techs strong distribution channels and proven business model, as demonstrated by M.Techs expansion into 23 cities in ten countries with steady growth achievements. Locally, we have been operating in Vietnam since 2003 and we look forward to this collaboration in taking UTM mainstream in the country. We also plan to grow Fortinets branding at the same time to seed its end-to-end security portfolio with local end customers.

M.Tech will carry the entire Fortinet security product range to offer enterprise customers an end-to-end security strategy that extends from the client, to databases, to web applications, to the overall network. This presents a value- and solution-centric value proposition to partners and end users.

Benjamin Teh, Fortinets regional director for Asia South and Hong Kong added, ÏThis collaboration with M.Tech is a strategic move, as they are well-positioned in Vietnam to evangelize our security solutions. The consolidated security approach has proven to be resilient in the current economic climate and burgeoning blended threatscape. Providing frugal and cutting-edge technology has been the foundation of Fortinets growth. We are confident of growing mindshare and market share with M.Tech in Vietnam.

Not only is the volume of email traffic rising but with it, the complexity of malware with the presence of blended threats combining spam, viruses, worms and spyware. To help ensure optimum service and security for our customers, we needed an effective multi-layered solution that combined antivirus, anti-spam and anti-spyware technologies in one appliance. FortiMail met our performance requirements while providing ease-of-use and management to our IT team which is essential as we do not have the time or resources to deploy and maintain separate point solutions.
