Fortinet Ranked Among America's 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Silicon Valley Ranking Places Fortinet 20th Out of Top 50

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Sept. 4, 2008 - Fortinet® - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced it has been ranked among Inc. Magazine's 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. Fortinet claimed the 1,258th position in its debut appearance on the Inc. 5,000 by consistently posting growth rates that exceed the expected growth rate of the market in which it participates. In addition to being listed as an Inc. 5,000 company, Fortinet also ranked No. 20 in the "Top 50 Businesses in San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA."

The Inc. 5,000 list is a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy - America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy.

"In just six years, Fortinet has grown to become a security market leader and shipped more than 350,000 products to more than 25,000 customers worldwide. Growth, innovation and customer satisfaction has and will continue to be a primary focus for the company," said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO of Fortinet. "We're very pleased to be ranked among the nation's fastest growing businesses, as it serves as additional validation of the continued and growing demand for Fortinet's market-leading network security products and services."

The 5,000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147 percent. Most importantly, the 2008 Inc. 5,000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded. Complete results of the Inc. 5,000, including company profiles and a list of the fastest-growing companies that can be sorted by industry and region, can be found at www.inc5000.com.

The 2008 Inc. 5,000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent - not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies - as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.

Being chosen as one of Inc. Magazine's "5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America" is the latest recognition for Fortinet. The company was also recently recognized with the Frost & Sullivan "Global Competitive Strategy Leadership of the Year" best practices award for enabling a profitable network-based managed security service business model. Last year, Fortinet was also selected as one of San Jose Magazine's "Best Places to Work in Silicon Valley" and was ranked as a top five company in Deloitte's prestigious "Technology Fast 50 Program for Silicon Valley," a list of the fastest growing Internet, media and entertainment, and communications companies in the area. .

In looking for a network security vendor, it was very important for us to find one that would support our new EVDO network, one that we could manage remotely and one that had consolidated functionality so that we could easily and cost-effectively add network security functions on an as-needed basis. Fortinet was the only vendor that met all these needs.
