Fortinet in the Leaders Quadrant of Leading Industry Analyst Firm's 2H07 Enterprise Network Firewall Magic Quadrant

Placement in Leaders Quadrant Evaluated Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept 18, 2007 - Fortinet® - a pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the leaders quadrant of the "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewall Magic Quadrant, 2H07" report.

According to the Gartner report, the enterprise network firewall market is driven primarily by the requirement to provide network policy enforcement and intrusion prevention at trust boundary points. Also, as the report's authors state: "There are many viable firewall providers, but the leading vendors provide a path to more inspection and blocking capabilities at higher speeds and at lower price points."

"We consider our placement in the leaders quadrant by Gartner a testament to our success in meeting the unique needs of large enterprises as well as the advanced network firewall capabilities found in our multi-threat security systems," said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO of Fortinet. "Our innovative, purpose-built platform of integrated security appliances and services provide the proven security, flexibility, scalability and manageability that enterprises require to help protect their networks against increasingly complex threats."

Fortinet's flagship FortiGate family of integrated security appliances deliver comprehensive network and content protection to enterprises and service providers of all sizes through the integration of eight essential security applications and services, including firewall, antivirus, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-spam, anti-spyware, Web filtering and traffic shaping. FortiGate systems are kept up to date automatically by Fortinet's FortiGuard™ subscription services, which provide continuous updates to help protect against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, and other threats. Specifically designed for large enterprises, MSSPs and teleco carriers, FortiGate-5000 chassis-based security systems are the industry's first security solutions to comply with the Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) standard for next generation carrier grade communications equipment. Mobile operators, telecommunication carriers, service providers and large enterprise customers can configure FortiGate-5000 systems in a variety of ways to offer unmatched performance, reliability, scalability and security.

"In a relatively short amount of time, Fortinet has become a disruptive force in the industry, overtaking vendors larger and smaller," continued Xie. "We remain dedicated to delivering the technology innovation and customer focus that has helped fuel our growth and set us apart from other vendors. There are hundreds of security companies in the market, but only a few designated leaders. We are pleased to be one of the few."

Key to our selection of Fortinet was the truly integrated functionality of its FortiGate security appliances. In evaluating other solutions, we found that one product might have offered IPS but nothing much beyond that. Another offered a range of functions, but as a piecemeal solution from multiple vendor partners. We found that none matched the breadth of Fortinet's integrated platform.
