Fortinet Launches Reseller Partner Program in the Asia Pacific Region

Resellers can extend their business opportunity, increase revenue, deepen expertise with Fortinet in Australia/New Zealand, South Asia, South-East Asia, Hong Kong

Hong Kong, July 15, 2004 - Fortinet - the only provider of ASIC-powered, network-based antivirus firewall systems for real-time network protection – today formally announced its FortiPartner Reseller Program for Australia/New Zealand, South Asia, South-East Asia, and Hong Kong. The objective of the program is to recruit a select group of strategic value-added reseller (VAR) and solution provider partners to provide domain expertise, security specialization, and geographic coverage for Fortinet's products.

The FortiPartner Reseller Program aims to provide resellers with effective sales and marketing programs, tools, training and support services needed to ensure their business success. The FortiPartner Reseller Program is tiered into Platinum, Gold and Silver levels. The program delivers value to partner members by rewarding them for their commitment with a number of incentives for engaging with Fortinet on joint business opportunities. FortiPartner Reseller Program members also enjoy discounts on Fortinet products, direct access to Fortinet's sales and marketing support, technical certification and sales training, among other key benefits. Annual revenue, the number of certified sales and technology professionals, and lead generation events, among others, are criteria to determine which tier a reseller best belongs.

The FortiPartner Reseller Program combines Fortinet's technology leadership and comprehensive support with the program members' domain expertise. Customers will benefit from this synergy through effective and accelerated delivery of security solutions.

The goal of Fortinet's Reseller Partner Program is to build a pan-Asian network of high-quality reseller partners committed to providing world-class products, service and support to Fortinet customers. Fortinet offers three types of reseller partner options:

  • Platinum Partner — resellers make a high-level of commitment to Fortinet and receive direct engagement and support from Fortinet sales and marketing teams.
  • Gold Partner — resellers meet a number of pre-determined requirements receive direct access to Fortinet sales, marketing and tech support
  • Silver Partner — resellers interface with local distributors for product purchases and support requests.

The FortiPartner Reseller Program follows the introduction last year of the FortiPartner Distibutor program in the Asia-Pacific region. The program now includes over 25 active distributor partners across the region.

As an incubator, we have a shared services environment but that doesn't mean that we want everything, such as intellectual property, between our customers shared. It was therefore critical that we have a solution to securely partition each customer's network but still allow for shared resources such as printers and Internet access. Fortinet's FortiGate systems enabled us to achieve this by virtualizing network security, which also helped free-up network bandwidth and increase our network performance.
