Partnership to drive adoption of Fortinet products and services in automotive industry
Seoul, South Korea Nov 5, 2007
- Fortinet Korea - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -
today announced that it has appointed Korea based Actela as its distributor. Actela 's customers are mainly from the automotive industry in Korea, and include such leading brands as Hyundai, Kia and Ssangyong Motors. This partnership is expected to help Fortinet expand into the automotive vertical.
Actela was founded in 2005 and quickly made a name for itself as a pioneer of Korea 's ADSL and VPN market. The company has since expanded into other product categories, including selling VPNs, firewalls and other security products, and has since become a respected system integrator to Korea 's leading automobile manufacturers. With this new partnership, Actela will expand its product range to include unified threat management solutions from Fortinet, while Fortinet will have opportunities to sell into the automotive industry vertical.
"Demand from our enterprise customers for unified threat management systems is increasing, and in particular, demand for Fortinet 's FortiGate series of products. Most businesses already recognize the benefits of UTM, but few UTM vendors have been able to make products that can scale to enterprise-level network environments. Fortinet has proven to scale to carrier-class levels, so this business partnership was an obvious choice for us," said Cheon Kyung-bok, senior director of Actela.
"In a single year, Korea exports more than 730,000 automobiles to the US, and many Korean brands are recognized globally. This partnership will give us access to the major automobile manufacturers through a trusted system integrator - Actela - with deep domain knowledge and expertise," said Justin Lee, Country Manger of Fortinet Korea.
Fortinet's award winning ASIC-accelerated FortiGate systems deliver real-time complete content protection through the integration of a broad range of security functions - including antivirus, firewall, virtual private networking (VPN), intrusion detection and prevention, content filtering, traffic shaping, and anti-spam. All of Fortinet's FortiGate systems are ICSA-certified four times over, easy to manage and provide cost-effective network-level and content-level protection at the network edge. FortiGate systems are kept up to date automatically through Fortinet's FortiProtect™ Network, which delivers continuous and automatic signature 'push' updates that ensure protection against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware and other intrusion threats around the clock, and around the world.
