Customer Demand for Fortinet's Consolidated Network Security Solutions Fuels Growth and Milestone Achievements

Company Surpasses 300,000 Unit Shipments; Grows Workforce to More Than 1,000 Employees

SUNNYVALE, Calif, - Feb 4, 2008 - Fortinet® - a pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced it has exceeded 300,000 cumulative shipments of its market-leading security appliances, growing shipments approximately 50 percent in 2007. Delivered via its flagship family of FortiGate™ appliances, Fortinet provides a flexible platform that enables enterprises and service providers of all sizes to consolidate critical security technology and services to maximize network protection and reduce total cost of ownership. The company complements these solutions with an array of messaging, management and analysis systems.

Strong customer demand has fueled Fortinet unit shipments and continued position as the UTM market leader worldwide, according to IDC data. To support this growth, as well as future sales and technology innovation opportunities, the company has built a workforce that now surpasses 1,000 employees spread across the globe, with 57 percent in the Americas region, 28 percent in APAC, and 15 percent in EMEA.

"Our cumulative growth in shipments and market share position are strong indicators that customers around the world are increasingly turning to Fortinet to solve their varied network security and business challenges," said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO of Fortinet. "Our customers point to Fortinet's flexible and integrated security platform, reduced management complexity and lower total cost of ownership as among the reasons for their selection of our solutions."

Comprehensive, Integrated UTM Approach Fortinet's FortiGate systems - the company's flagship offering - are ASIC-accelerated security appliances that integrate essential security applications such as antivirus, firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention, Web filtering, anti-spam and traffic shaping. All FortiGate systems are kept up-to-date by Fortinet's FortiGuard" Network, which helps ensure protection against the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, other unwanted network traffic and more - around the clock and around the world.

FortiGate systems are complemented by FortiMail™, FortiAnalyzer™ and FortiManager™ product families. FortiMail systems are high-performance, multi-layered email security platforms that inspect email traffic to block unwanted spam, information-stealing phishing scams, dangerous viruses and a host of other email-borne threats. FortiAnalyzer systems are purpose-built appliances that provide valuable intelligence and simplify and centralize the collection and analysis of log and event data from Fortinet's FortiGate security appliances, delivering highly relevant network reports, valuable intelligence on network usage and assistance with meeting regulatory compliance. FortiManager appliances minimize the administrative effort required to deploy, configure, monitor and maintain the full range of network protection services provided by Fortinet products.

FortiGate systems have been designed to go beyond traditional UTM to also offer networking capabilities, performing switching and routing at both layers two and three. Fortinet is also the only vendor to offer virtualized UTM security for large enterprises, MSSPs and carriers on a high-performance platform for manageability of multiple domains from a single device.
