SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 23, 2007
- Fortinet® - a pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -
today announced Pedro Paixao as the company's new regional director of Latin America. With more than 10 years of experience, Paixao will be responsible for further establishing a strong regional presence for Fortinet, broadening the company's network of channel partners for increased sales, and enhancing operational activities in the region.
Paixao joins Fortinet directly from Check Point Software Technologies, where he served as part of the senior leadership for the company's Latin America sales team. In this position, he was a key driver in leading significant growth in Latin America revenues and establishing a successful team of security experts throughout the region. Paixao will leverage his previous success to grow Fortinet's sales in this region - focusing on large enterprise customers and MSSPs, as well as recruiting and training new channels that will allow Fortinet to further penetrate emerging markets.
"Having Pedro join our team is a huge win for Fortinet," said Karl Soderlund, vice president of Americas sales and global alliances for Fortinet. "His strong sales management skill set will allow him a hands-on understanding of the critical security needs of our end users, as well as the support needs of our channel partners."
"Fortinet's innovation in multi-threat security appliances is unmatched, and I am very excited to leverage this innovation to increase the company's successes in Latin America," Paixao said. "I am confident that teaming together with our talented sales team and channel partners will allow us to further enhance successes for the region overall."
