Ken Xie
Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Ken Xie, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, has more than 20 years of technical and management experience in the networking and security industries. A seasoned and successful entrepreneur, Ken was Founder, President and CEO of NetScreen (NASDAQ: NSCN), which was acquired by Juniper (NASDAQ: JNPR) for $3.5 billion. Additionally, he was Managing Partner of Jedi Venture, Founder, President and CEO of Stanford Infosystems, and Security Architect for Healtheon (NASDAQ: HLTH) and Philips.
Business success and technology innovation has garnered Ken numerous patents and accolades. In 2006, Ken was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and Time Magazine and a Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. He was also recognized as a Top 5 Entrepreneur by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2005 and a Top 15 Technology Innovator by Computer Reseller News magazine in 2004. Ken earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in China, and also attended Stanford University where he pursued a graduate degree in electrical engineering before taking a leave of absence to found NetScreen.

Ken Goldman
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Ken Goldman is an accomplished executive with extensive financial, operational and business management experience and a solid track record of success. He served as senior vice president, finance and administration, and CFO of Siebel Systems from August 2000 until the close of Oracle Corporation's acquisition in January 2006. Prior to that, he held CFO positions at Excite@Home, Sybase, Inc., Cypress Semiconductor and VLSI Technology. Additionally, his experience includes board director, audit committee chairman, and financial advisory roles at several leading public and private technology companies. Ken earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 1971 and his master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in 1974. He is a member and the former president of The Financial Executive Institute, Santa Clara chapter, and was formerly a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council (FASAC) from 2000 to 2004.

Michael Xie

Michael Xie, Founder, Chief Technology Officer and
Vice President of Engineering, has more than 15 years of experience
in the network security industry. Previously, he held positions
as Vice President of Engineering for ServGate, Software Director
and Architect for NetScreen, and Security Architect for Milkyway
Networks. He holds multiple U.S. patents and is the author
of several books in the computer and network security markets.
He was named a 2006 Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and a Top Technology Innovator by VARBusiness
Magazine in 2004. Michael has an M.S. degree in Computer Science
from the University of Manitoba as well as B.S. and M.S. degrees
in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University in China. |

Jens Andreassen
Vice President of Sales, APAC
Jens Andreassen, Vice President of Sales, APAC, brings more than 20 years of experience in global sales and business development to Fortinet. He joined Fortinet in 2002 as the founding Managing Director for EMEA and became Vice President of International Sales in 2004, responsible for 70 percent of the company's revenue at the time. Before joining Fortinet, he held key sales and executive positions at Narus, Micromuse, and Tandberg ASA. Jens holds a bachelor's of science and master's of Business and Marketing, from the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo and an MBA from Babson College, Babson Park, Mass.

Norma Lane
Vice President, Human Resources
Norma Lane, Vice President of Human Resources, brings to Fortinet over 20 years of experience in senior leadership positions. Most recently, Norma was Vice President Human Resources for network hardware provider Foundry Networks. Prior to Foundry, Norma held senior HR positions at Telocity Inc., a broadband Internet company, Silicon Graphics and Apple Computer. She was also Vice President of HR and Administration for Kaiser Permanente. Norma holds an MPA and a BS in Human Resources and Organizational Development from University of San Francisco, has completed the executive management program at UC Berkeley and is a Board Director for UC Santa Cruz and Women of Color Network (WCAN).

Yoshimitsu Okamoto
Vice President of Sales, Japan
Yoshimitsu Okamoto, Vice President of Sales, Japan, has over 30 years of sales, operations and channel experience within the enterprise technology industry in Japan. Prior to Fortinet, Okamoto-san was a Director at Academy Capital Investments K.K.
where he was responsible for evaluating new venture companies and managing the firm's consulting practice. Okamoto-san spent 10 years at Cisco Systems K.K. where during his tenure he was the Director for Channel and Sales Operations,
helping Cisco Systems K.K. to develop numerous major channel partnerships and grow revenue by over 400 percent. He also held sales positions at System Software Associates Japan and Sun Microsystems. Okamoto-san began his career at IBM Japan
where he spent over 15 years managing major sales accounts for technologies such as IBM's mainframes, distributed systems and PCs. He graduated from Waseda University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Karl Soderlund
Vice President, Americas Sales and Business Development
Karl Soderlund, Vice President, Americas Sales and Business Development, is a sales and channel veteran with more than 15 years of industry experience. Karl was formerly a regional sales director at Extreme Networks where he was responsible for successfully managing and growing the company's enterprise and channel sales. Prior to that, he held various strategic sales, channel and operational roles at Cisco Systems. Karl has a bachelor's degree in management from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass.

Michelle Spolver
Vice President, Corporate Communications
Michelle Spolver, Vice President, Corporate Communications, has more than 15 years of experience helping technology companies gain mindshare and market share through the development, management and implementation of public, analyst and investor relations programs, corporate reputation management, executive communications, and customer and channel marketing activities. Prior to joining Fortinet in 2004, Michelle was director of worldwide public relations for Check Point Software Technologies, where she was instrumental in growing the company's brand awareness through business, financial and industry trade press. Prior to Check Point, Michelle held senior public relations positions at Compaq Computer Corporation (acquired by HP) and Weber Shandwick Public Relations. Michelle earned a B.A. degree in journalism from California State University, Long Beach, and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).

Andre Stewart
Vice President of Sales, EMEA
Andre Stewart, Vice President of Sales, EMEA, has over 10
years of experience in the data communications industry within
Europe. Previous to Fortinet, Andre was a Regional Sales Manager
at NetScreen where, prior to the Juniper acquisition, he helped
increase European sales operations leading to company growth
in the region. He has also set up Agora M&A, a consultancy
company assisting IT consultancy companies, system integrators
and distributors with aggressive cross border expansion plans
within Europe. Andre is fluent in five European languages.
In addition, he has served as a Pan-European headhunter and
for the United Nations (UNESCAP) in Bangkok after graduating
from Kingston University with a degree in Political Sciences
and Languages.

John Whittle
Vice President, General Counsel
John Whittle, Vice President, General Counsel, has significant experience managing a wide range of legal matters for technology companies. Most recently John was Vice President, General Counsel for Ingres Corporation, an open source database company formed by a divestiture from Computer Associates (CA). Prior to that, John was Vice President, General Counsel for Corio, Inc., an enterprise application services provider, where he managed the company's legal matters, which included an initial public offering process and acquisition by IBM. Prior to Corio, John was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, representing technology companies in general corporate matters, initial public offerings and follow-on offerings. John holds a BA degree in history from the University of Virginia and a JD, magna cum laude, from Cornell University.
