| EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT
Ken XieKen Xie has more than 20 years of technical and management experience in the networking and security industries. A seasoned and successful entrepreneur, Ken was Founder, President and CEO of NetScreen (NASDAQ: NSCN), which was acquired by Juniper (NASDAQ: JNPR). Additionally, he was Managing Partner of Jedi Venture, Founder, President and CEO of Stanford Infosystems, and Security Architect for Healtheon (NASDAQ: HLTH) and Philips. Business success and technology innovation has garnered Ken numerous patents and accolades. In 2006, Ken was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and Time Magazine and a Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. He was also recognized as a Top 5 Entrepreneur by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2005 and a Top 15 Technology Innovator by Computer Reseller News magazine in 2004. Ken earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in China, and also attended Stanford University where he pursued a graduate degree in electrical engineering for four years before taking a leave of absence to found his own company.
Ken GoldmanKen Goldman is an accomplished executive with extensive financial, operational and business management experience and a solid track record of success. He served as senior vice president, finance and administration, and CFO of Siebel Systems from August 2000 until the close of Oracle Corporation's acquisition in January 2006. Prior to that, he held CFO positions at Excite@Home, Sybase, Inc., Cypress Semiconductor and VLSI Technology. Additionally, his experience includes board director, audit committee chairman, and financial advisory roles at several leading public and private technology companies. Ken earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 1971 and his master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in 1974. He is a member and the former president of The Financial Executive Institute, Santa Clara chapter, and was formerly a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council (FASAC) from 2000 to 2004.
Michael XieMichael Xie has more than 15 years of experience in the network security industry. Previously, he held positions as Vice President of Engineering for ServGate, Software Director and Architect for NetScreen, and Senior Software Engineer for Milkyway Networks. He holds multiple U.S. patents and is the author of several books in the computer and network security markets. He was named a 2006 Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and a Top Technology Innovator by VARBusiness Magazine in 2004. Michael has an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba as well as B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University in China.
Jens AndreassenJens Andreassen has more than 20 years of global sales and business development experience. As vice president of strategy and new technology for Fortinet, he is responsible for new product and technology initiatives as well as related strategic partnerships. Prior to this role, he was vice president of APAC sales, responsible for developing and driving Fortinet's sales efforts in the Asia Pacific Market. Jens joined Fortinet in 2002 as the founding managing director for EMEA and became vice president of international sales in 2004, responsible for 70 percent of the company's revenue at the time. Before joining Fortinet, he held key sales and executive positions at Narus, Micromuse and Tandberg ASA. Jens holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business and Marketing degrees from the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo and an MBA from Babson College, Babson Park, Mass.
Anthony JamesAnthony James has more than 15 years of experience in the networking and security industries. He is responsible for defining and directing the strategy and marketing of Fortinet's products. Prior to Fortinet, Anthony served in senior product management and product marketing roles at Network Associates, Foundry Networks and NetScaler, as well as held engineering support, technical instruction and network/security consulting positions.
Patrice PerchePatrice Perche has nearly two decades of experience in the IT security industry. In his current position, Patrice is responsible for managing Fortinet's international sales and support operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia. Prior to this, Patrice was vice president of EMEA sales at Fortinet and helped drive the company's sales into , Benelux, Spain, India and the Middle East region. Patrice has extensive experience in launching innovative security technologies into new markets and working closely with channel partners. Prior to joining Fortinet, he was co-founder and CEO of Risc Group, a French-based company focusing on IT Security with pan-European operations. Patrice graduated from Insa Lyon and holds a masters degree in computer engineering.
Sherry PulversSherry Pulvers brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as head of human resources, managing Fortinet's global HR practices and infrastructure. Sherry joined Fortinet in June, 2008 as part of Fortinet's acquisition of IPLocks, where she was a senior member of the HR team for more than three years. Prior to IPLocks, Sherry served in an HR management role at PalmSource where she created the infrastructure required for its spin-off from Palm Inc. and subsequent IPO. She was previously the director of HR at Alcatel, providing HR leadership and support to the company's networking division. Sherry attended the University of California Santa Cruz where she earned her certification in human resources management. Subsequently, she was certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute and is an active member of the Northern California Human Resources Association.
Michelle SpolverMichelle Spolver has more than 15 years of experience helping technology companies gain mindshare and market share through the development, management and implementation of public, analyst and investor relations programs, corporate reputation management, executive communications, and customer and channel marketing activities. Prior to joining Fortinet, Michelle was director of worldwide public relations for Check Point Software Technologies, where she was instrumental in growing the company's brand awareness through business, financial and industry trade press. Prior to Check Point, Michelle held senior public relations positions at Compaq Computer Corporation (acquired by HP) and Weber Shandwick Public Relations. Michelle earned a B.A. degree in journalism from California State University, Long Beach, and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
Michael ValentineMichael Valentine brings to Fortinet more than 20 years of sales and channel experience. Michael joined Fortinet as Vice President of Americas Channel Sales, during which time he expanded the company's network of North America technology distributors, signed more than 700 new Americas partners, grew the internal channel team by 82 percent and updated the award-winning FortiPartner Program with a stronger enterprise focus. He is a recognized and respected sales executive who in 2008 and 2009 was named a top "Channel Chief" by CRN magazine. Prior to joining Fortinet, Michael held vice president of Americas sales positions at both SonicWALL and WatchGuard Technologies, as well as held senior sales positions at Panasonic. He holds a bachelors degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Arlington.
John WhittleJohn Whittle has significant experience managing a wide range of legal matters for technology companies. Most recently John was Vice President, General Counsel for Ingres Corporation, an open source database company formed by a divestiture from Computer Associates (CA). Prior to that, John was Vice President, General Counsel for Corio, Inc., an enterprise application services provider, where he managed the company's legal matters, which included an initial public offering process and acquisition by IBM. Prior to Corio, John was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, representing technology companies in general corporate matters, initial public offerings and follow-on offerings. John holds a BA degree in history from the University of Virginia and a JD, magna cum laude, from Cornell University.
